FAQs
At the NAPCO NOC (www.NapcoNOC.com), how do I program my StarLink dual path / StarLink Connect radios for dual path reporting with cellar (telephone) backup?
The StarLink dual path and StarLink Connect radios are capable of dual path reporting from the radio installation site to the NAPCO NOC (www.NapcoNOC.com) over the Internet with cellar (telephone) backup.
UL Fire and Burglary installations require both paths to be supervised. Failure on any path requires the control panel to annunciate the trouble and report the trouble to the central station.
1. Log into the NAPCO NOC (www.NapcoNOC.com), click Communications Cell and/or IP.
2. Under the Communication Technology pull-down, select IP with Cell Radio Backup. In addition, check the Enable IP Supervision checkbox for UL Commercial Fire and Burg installations (the radio will check-in on both the IP and radio pathways and control panel Test Timers will be sent on both pathways).
3. Click the Advanced tab, program your central station telephone and account number in the Tel# for Reporting Tamper/Linecut/Parallel Inp field. The field Checkin/Poll Fail Status to Activate PGM1 must be set to activate PGM1 on a failure of either path (select "Either Path Fails" from the pull-down), and also be sure to set Supv Failure Report to "Y" to enable the report.
If the radio path fails to report a signal or fails to check in, the radio will send an E788 Zone 1 trouble (upon restoration of the radio path, an R788 Zone 1 restore report will be sent).
If the Internet path fails to report a signal or fails to check in, the radio will send an E788 Zone 2 trouble (upon restoration of the Internet path, an R788 Zone 2 restore report will be sent).
Failure of both paths to check in triggers the NOC to send an E356 trouble to the central station. An R356 restore report will be sent upon restoration of communications.
