FAQs
Can the SLE-CDMA-FIRE be used for Commercial Fire applications? I was told the radio must be in a metal enclosure (not plastic) for Commercial Fire applications.
The SLE-CDMA-FIRE, supplied in a red plastic enclosure, is UL 864 9th Edition approved and supports NFPA 2007, 2010 and 2013 service plans. UL requires the SLE-CDMA-FIRE to be mounted on a single-, double- or triple-gang electrical box with the wires routed through the knock outs located on the back of the radio enclosure. Refer to WI2146 or the illustrations shown below for mounting instructions.
If local codes or the AHJ require the radio to be in a metal enclosure, you can use the model SLECDMA-CFB (panel powered) or the SLECDMA-CFB-PS (powered by 120VAC with battery backup).
