FAQs
How do I program an IP address into the CICP2100 and the CICP2100S universe controllers?
The CICP2100 and the CICP2100S uniVerse controllers defaults to DHCP mode. A DHCP enabled router/gateway is recommended to provide an initial IP address to the CICP2100 and the CICP2100S. Once a DHCP address is provided to the Universe unit, then you must program in a static IP address that MUST never change.
If a static IP address has been programmed into the CICP2100 and the CICP2100S using the "CardAccess.uniVerseFinder.exe" utility, it should remain in there even after a power cycle.
If you are using Ethernet Firmware V12.7.8 or later, APIPA is supported. This means if a DHCP server is not found, a 169.254.x.x APIPA address will be provided to the CICP2100 and the CICP2100S. As previous mentioned, it is recommended to use a DHCP enabled router/gateway.
To view the network settings or program in a static IP address, you must use the "CardAccess.uniVerseFinder.exe" utility. The "CardAccess.uniVerseFinder.exe" utility can be found in the "CardAccess4K/Tools" folder. Refer to the Continental Document Library for the "CardAccess.uniVerseFinder.exe" instructions. It is recommended to use the Version 1.2.3.x or later version of the CardAccess.universefinder.exe utility.
If you are running CA4K V1.0.50 SP3, your ethernet firmware should be 12.7.8 and the uniVerse firmware should be 4.0.227.
f you are running CA4K V1.1.x SP1, your ethernet firmware should be 12.8.2 or later and the controller firmware should be V4.0.249 or later.
