I am trying to download Burg-only changes to an existing C-Series (GEMC) Fire / Burglary control panel, and the following error message appears during the download: "Keypad is locked or Enable Programming is not selected" (and other text as shown in the image below). Why does this message appear when I only made Burglary system changes?
The above message appears because, at some point, the Fire system programming was unlocked in PCD-Windows Quickloader software. Unlocking the Fire system programming requires enabling programming from the Fire keypad before the downloading of the programming to the control panel is allowed. To lock the Fire programming, the GEMC control panel must be uploaded.
Perform a Smart upload, make the necessary Burg-only changes to the programming, then Smart download to the control panel. Note: When the Fire programming is locked, all Fire features will be highlighted in red and unable to be changed. When the Account in PCD-Windows is first opened, if the Fire programming is locked, a message popup appears (example shown below).
