FAQs
What can cause the SQL installation to fail during the CardAccess 3000 installation?
Below are some of the main reasons why SQL Server installation fails:
1) The name of the computer or named instanced must be less than 15 characters.
2) You must have Full Administrator permissions to install SQL Server Express of the full version of SQL Server.
note: If possible, turn on the hidden elevated Administrator account and use that in Windows 7 or newer operating systems.
3) CardAccess 3000 is shipped on a DVD. It requires a DVD drive in the computer. If you do not have a DVD drive, below are a few options:
- Create a folder on the C: Drive of the computer. Copy all the files from the DVD into that folder. Now launch the CardAccess 3000 setup program from the folder on the hard drive.
- Map a Network drive to another computer with a DVD drive. Then put the CardAccess 3000 DVD into that mapped drive.
Note: Do not attempt to install CardAccess 3000 from a thumb drive.
