FAQs
Why does the voltage on the secondary communication port drop to zero whenever my StarLink communicator detects a trouble?
StarLink Dual Path Fire Communicators support the patented* UL 864 listed "Self-Supervising Fire Communicator" feature that allows the communicator to annunciate a communication trouble as per NFPA without the need for a 3rd party UL relay or any control panel rewiring or reprogramming. Simply remove JP2 to enable.
This is accomplished by the dropping of the emulated Telco voltage on the secondary communication port when a trouble is detected.
