How to move a CA4K license from one server to another?

On the original server:

1. Open the Card Access License Manager.
2. Back up the license by going to System > Backup License.
3. Save the backup file to a USB flash drive or other portable storage device.
4. Revoke the license by going to Registration > Unregister Software License / Revoke.

 

On the new server:

1. Plug in the USB drive or portable storage that contains the backup license file.
2. Copy the license backup file from the USB drive to the desktop of the new server. This ensures the file is stored locally on the machine.
3. Open the Card Access License Manager.
4. Import the license by going to System > Import License and select the backup file from the desktop.

Important: If the Import License process fails, select System > Download Purchased License, enter your Serial Number, then press Ok.  (The serial number was included in the original email that came with your license file.  If you do not know your serial number right-click the “CardAccess.lic” file, choose Open with Notepad, select Format > Word Wrap and find <SerialNumber> within the file contents). 

       5.  Activate the license by going to Registration > Activate Software License.
