Do I have to enable the keypad under Readers, to use a 26 bit keypad?

Answer:
NO... the keypad data received by the controller will be identical as a 26 bit Prox card. You do not have to Enable the keypad under Readers. 

If a reader is not reading on a specific reader port, can I measure voltages on the reader port to determine if I have a bad reader port?

Answer:
YES - Remove the reader wiring from the reader port. On the controller, you should read +5V between D0 to Gnd and 5V between D1 to GND. If you do not measure 5 volts, you will have to replace the board. 

Does the CA4K support a 4 or 8 bit burst keypad?

Answer:
YES - The CA4K will support a 4 or 8 bit burst keypad. In the early days of CA3000, it only supported a 4 bit burst, but eventually it was updated to support either a 4 bit burst, or a 8 bit burst keypad.     

What can cause a badge swipe not to read and not display an Alert/Event?

Answer:
If you are not using a keypad, you must verify the Keypad is NOT enabled under Readers>Door Control.

Answer:
If you are not using Door Contacts (Door Sensors), you must set the Door Sensor =0 under Configuration>Readers and then you MUST perform a DATA DOWNLOAD to the panel. This requirement was added into the Continental Software in 2017.

NO...The Accelaterm does not offer an XY interface. Note: Most newer controllers do not support XY Matrix keypads.

When using the +5VDC Accessory power connector for readers, is the ground common with the reader port ground.

Answer:
Yes, the grounds are common between the +5V accessory power Connector and the Reader Port Ground.
