The metal key is stuck in the lever's key cylinder. What do I do?
If the metal key is stuck in the cylinder, simply remove the lever and turn the key until it can be removed from the cylinder.
When re-installing the lever, ensure the bitting of the key (also called the "teeth" or "cuts") are pointed away from the latch when in a horizontal position.
This issue is the result of pushing the lever in place with the key in the wrong orientation (180 degrees (half turn) in the wrong direction.
