NAPCO Prox Programmer App

Used with the model PR-PROG Reader/Programmer, the Napco Prox Programmer app (computer program) is used to field-update the firmware in the NAPCO Series of 125kHz Prox and Smart readers.  

This WinZip file contains the two files needed to update your NAPCO reader firmware: 

• USBXpress Driver (allows your PC to communicate with the Napco Prox Programmer app)
• Napco Prox Programmer (the computer program (app) used to update the reader firmware)

PR-PROG Reader / Programmer Firmware

PR-PROG Reader/Programmer Firmware for the NAPCO Series of 125 kHz Prox and Smart readers.

The PR-PROG is used to update a variety of proximity card reader types.  If the PR-PROG firmware needs to be updated, proceed as follows:

1.  Select DOWNLOAD on this page and save this .bin file to a folder on your PC (be sure to remember this folder location).

2.  Insert the PR-PROG's USB plug into an open USB socket on your PC.

3.  Double-click the "NapcoProxProgrammer.exe" file to launch the Napco Prox Programmer application.  Select "Send Programmer Software" from the Actions section, and navigate to the folder in which you saved the .bin file.

4.  Select the ProxReaderProgrammerFirmware ###.bin file, select Open to complete the update procedure.
