FAQs
Can I initiate panic alarms and arm different areas in a Gemini control panel using a GEM-KEYF keyfob transmitter that I mapped to a zone?
Yes, you can map each GEM-KEYF button to a Gemini control panel using different point numbers for arming selected areas, or for sending panic alarms in those areas. For example, to program each button to arm different areas, designate a point for each button, like this:
- The 'lock' button = point 1
- The 'unlock' button = point 2
- The 'A1' button = point 3
- The 'A2' button = point 4
To program the GEM-KEYF as a key switch to arm different areas, map the same RF ID numbers with the corresponding point numbers and program each zone as key switch that arms a different area. Be sure to have an end-of-line resistor at each panel zone (note that this will not work with a zone-doubled control panel).
In the example shown below, pressing the 'lock' button will arm/disarm Area 1, pressing the 'unlock' button will arm/disarm Area 2, 'A1' will arm Area 3 and 'A2' will arm Area 4.
